On December 19th, over 30 members of the Chapter dined at the Historic Old Ebbit Grille in downtown Washington, DC, just across the street from the White House. The restaurant is called the Restaurant of the Presidents as is evidenced by the decor. The restaurant was beautiful and fully decorated for the holidays. The food was scrumptous, especially the salmon.
After leaving the restaurant, several of us walked two short blocks to view the majestic National Christmas Tree, which was lit by the First Family a few weeks earlier. We also viewed the trees of symbolizing each state of our Union, but were unable to locate our State of Maryland's tree. It was the first time some of us had ever seen the National Tree up close and personal. A great time was had by all, despite the frigid temperature.
